The seed for Mission Oaks National Bank was planted on a Temecula basketball court in the late 1990s. In between pick-up games, veteran banker Keith Johnson and Dr. Walter Combs, a Temecula physician, often talked about starting a locally owned bank that would fill the void created by the mergers that were sweeping through the banking business.
Later, when veteran banker Gary Votapka approached Johnson about opening a new community bank in Temecula, the seed was germinated and began to grow. Collectively the pair had more than 40 years of experience in the banking business, most of it in the region they planned to serve.
Three hundred and twenty five investors and $7.6 million later, Mission Oaks National Bank opened its doors in November 2000.
Everything about Mission Oaks and its experienced staff is focused on providing exceptional products and customer service with a personal touch that only a true community bank can deliver. Current President/CEO Gary Deems highlighted the strength of the bank's staff. "Every staff member understands the importance of superior customer service and quick answers. We'd love an opportunity to prove that Mission Oaks really has the best bankers in our market." |
